Default restaurant recommendations in Hollywood area?

My hubby and I are going to see The Lion King on Saturday night in Hollyweird and were wondering if anyone could suggest a good restaurant somewhere in the vicinity or along the way between the SF Valley and there. It can be a little upscale (we'll be "dressed up"!) but doesn't have to be ... just great food.

Pinot Hollywood is pretty decent (estimate $35 - $50 per person) - about 3 blocks from the theater. They get lots of pre-Lion King diners so beware - the valet gets a little backed up in the rush to get to the show. I think the Lion King website also lists restaurants in the vicinity.

Thanks! I saw Pinot Hollywood on their site but hadn't eaten there myself. Do you think it's safe to drive the S2000? (Am I just being a suburban paranoid person?)

they handle some pretty nice cars. i'd feel ok. something i would consider is scoping out a lot between the restaurant and the theater and just walk from one to the other - that way you don't have to pay twice for parking and you don't get stuck in the mad rush to find a spot 10 minutes before the show starts. don't do this if you're wearing stiletto's, though. the theater itself has no parking structure - you have to park in those open air lots with parking attendants. oh, and the nearby restaurants and parking lots should be mapped out on the pantages theater website, not the lion king website.

Thanks ssanae and KT (my initials are KT, also!). I'm looking forward to it. The tickets were my b-day present ... so this is kinda like extending your b-day!

You must, absolutely, try Cafe Bizou!

I'd almost personally guarantee with my own money that you'll love it. Great food, atmosphere, and reasonable prices.

I'm sure someone else here will vouch for me...

KT -

Have you ever thought of opening your own Tour Guide business? I've never seen anyone so up to date on the LA area...
