Default Red light ticket and Front plates

I was making a right turn and I guess I did not completely come to the stop, and I saw the flash of the camera....

I am not running a front plate, do they take pics of the back of the car as well ?

(south and gridley in cerritos)

of course they do. not only that, but i think they give you an additional ticket for not having the front plate.

but i believe you cant get a ticket for making a right. only for people who go straight.

^ That depends if its posted no turn on red then they will issue the citation (they probably will anyway) I would fight it and tell them you came to a complete stop then made the right turn (go check to make sure its not posted no turn on red )

I dont know exactly how the camera's work I thought the would be tripped when the light turns red and something enterst the intersection, but sense you were turning you may be able to fight it.

They do take about three or four pics from different angles.

ive seen a sign at one intersection that was written on a piece of cardboard saying to the effect "THIS CAMERA WILL TICKET YOU IF YOU DONT STOP BEFORE MAKING A RIGHT ON A RED" (there is NO sign that says "no turn on red" either, so that theory is out the window.) if someone took the time to write it on a piece of cardboard and post it up, i figure he did for good reason. and if im not mistaken, not coming to a complete stop on a right light before making a right, its as bad as a rolling (non) stop through a stop sign, if a cop ever saw you. and i would believe that those cameras are going to ticket you for anything. so when i see its a camera intersection, i make sure i come to a complete stop.

werd.

Also - you MUST stop before making a right turn on a red. Camera only catches right turns if you are going over 15mph (i think) - which means you didnt come to a full stop and yield as you should.

AND they do give you a front plate ticket as well...

2 or so years ago, I got a ticket in the mail for this exact case, not stopping completely to make a right hand turn.

I also didn't have any front plates. I did a seach on the internet about this, i think the website is redlightassassins.com or something like that. On that website it tells you that some traffic lights are operated by a third party company and when the picture doesn't show the driver's face clearly the case can be beaten in court.

On my "ticket" it said not to contact Santa Ana court, proving that it isn't a real ticket. I got the red light to flash on First Street and Euclid. The people on the website suggested me to just throw away the piece of paper and disregard it. Nothing has happen to me since *knock on wood*

The piece of paper they sent me requested further information about the driver, such as DL#, address, if the car was sold provide information about who you sold it to, etc...

If you were to fill out that form, then indeed you will be seeing a real ticket in the mail.

Good luck, YMMV

Man if I knew someone that could fabricate fiberglass I think I have a way around this!

I mount a flash inside the bumper with a slave sensor front and back. The flash is aimed at the license plate. When the camera flash goes off, instantly that will trigger the on board flash to flash directly on to your license plate. Depending on the watt seconds it will blow out the license plate making it just a white blob

You might not get a ticket for that one. Sometimes the sensors are faulty.

For instance there is a left turn sensor on a street I usually take home from work. It senses speed and determines if you can stop in time by how fast you drive over it. If I drive 40mph and stop well before the line the cameras still go off. lol. I do this everyday and they cant do anything about it since I did nothing wrong, by braking in less distance than the sensors think that I can ( I love my S)

curious, do you have a front license plate?

i wonder if they still take a picture of you behind the white line, and are able to see your license plate, and you in the seat perhaps, they still could send you a ticket for the plate....

im guessing its out of the view frame tho.
