I am always on the 14 fwy going from the Antelope Valley to Los Angeles and I have my cheapo Costco Radar/Laser detector which doesn't detect whatever the hell the CHP is using. I have had 2 incidences where 2 separate CHP has had the gun pointed at me but my detector isn't going off at all. Local Antelope Valley CHP is using K-BAND.

Does anyone know what the local CHP is using on the 14fwy between LA and AV?

Also... for those of you that have had tickets on the 14 fwy... what speed were you traveling at?

Most CHP uses lasers now. once the laser is on you CHP already got how fast you are going. So right when ur paper weight starts beeping you are getting pulled over and a ticket. Radar is old school now.

I've picked up Ka on the 14

i think chp only uses Ka and Laser... I turned off Kband since I don't really go that fast on the streets and the falses from automatic doors are annoying

I actually only run Ka and it's working well for me (knock on wood). Turned off K, X and laser because of too many false alarms.

I've been hit by both KA and laser on the 14. I've always been under the impression that once you got hit with Laser it was already to late but I didn't get pulled, same thing on the 99. Honestly, I usually cruise about 10 mph over.
