Default Quick Question for anyone....

Does the threading for the oil drain plug have a special spring of some sort?...I think there was some inside threading that went on the plug when you screw it back onto the oilpan but it came loose or broke because i can only find a little piece of it....the threading on the screw and the oilpan seem fine but it will not fit tightly and i seem to be losing a little oil at times...DOes anybody know what the hell is wrong?......or where can i find the new screw or the spring?.........Thanks...

I don't think there is any kind of spring...

Are you talking about a crush washer that is needed to fit between the bolt and oil pan? If you over torque the oil drain bolt, i think you can damage some of the threading on either the bolt or oil pan...

P.S. You can always go to your local Honda dealership and buy a new oil drain bolt and crush washer

The washer should be replaced every time you change oil.

It sounds like you stripped the oil pan. That's going to be pretty expensive to replace. Does the oil leak out??

You need to buy a good torque wrench.
