No offense at all, of course, but that sounds a little too close to a cop-out for my taste.

what happens when one prays and pray and sees no results?
...but we shouldn't just pray when we need something........that I think is a big part of the equation.

you get a lot of ppl like nicotunes who end up being jaded with religion and get a false sense of god.

No, seriously I can't tell you. I don't believe in it, so I really don't know. I've always just understood it as not heaven, not hell.
Heaven = Good
Hell = Bad
Purgatory = Um... ok?

Didn't read the whole thread. I too was born and raised as a Christian, and up until recently after 23 years of labeling myself as a Christian and believing everything there is to it in the bible, I now associate myself as an atheist although I have yet to reveal this to my mom (who would probably react similarly to the mother in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSAMx8qbGm8 jk jk)
I'll spare you the details of my transformation, but here's a quote to elicit some food for thought:
A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.
-Albert Einstein
Good luck with whichever path you choose to take.
