Default Question regarding tires width

Hey guys, I'm currently running stock right now and I'm looking to purchase new tires, BF Goodrich g-Force.

My stock set up is FRONT: 215/45R-17
REAR: 245/40R-17

I want to go a bit wider for better handling, i know it will weigh more, but i don't mind.

Can I go w/ 220 front and 250 rear? What would be the consequences for going wider? more noise? rubbing? And what's the widest i can go running stock?

Thanks,
Jim

you can probably put 225 and 255 on stock rims...they just bulge out a little more than fitted ones

The 255s won't bulge at all.
