Problems w/ my Vortech Supercharger
Ok, so here's the deal. I've been battling a problem with my Vortech Supercharger for some time now. Me and my brother-in-law have contacted Vortech several times trying to diagnose the issue. I'm going to call them again tomorrow to see if there's any new leads. So here's the problem -
I had the car running fine after the install. Then a few short weeks later the car just dies on me. When I go to turn it back on it gives me a CEL and begins to run in safe mode. From that point forward I haven't been able to drive my car reliably. We check several things out, but nothing jumps out at us. I think it may have something to do with the first batch of faulty electrical control boxes. At the time Vortech said that wasn't the issue. We sit on the issue for several months and contact Vortech again and get the run around. We try a few more things, but nothing works. We contacted Vortech about two months ago and was told yeah the electrical control box is at fault, so we send the bad one and get a replacement.
So I get the replacement and we get it installed. Unfortunately, as soon as the car starts it dies and throws a CEL (P0335, if I recall correctly). My brother-in-law takes the electrical control box out and just routes all the wires without the unit. Car starts and idles fine. So do you all think there's a problem with this box too? Or do you think it might be another problem elsewhere?
Does anyone know a good mechanic that I could bring my car to in or near the San Diego area? I'm hoping to get this issue fixed so I can begin to enjoy my car again.
Thanks.

SPUGEN in Whittier! It's worth the drive! Ask for Duc... great guy and great friendly service. He knows the Vortech SC pretty well. Had one himself.
