The bike is new,in perfect condition ,no scratches,no damage,never been laid down or required any repairs. The price i am looking for my Honda is $4000 including the shipping costs,insurance and handling.

Look at the "escrow service's" domain name - probably only has existed for a few weeks - fake escrow is the new scam-o-the-week. I'll check it later if someone doesn't beat me to it.

A good basic rule of thumb is "if it looks too good to be true it probably is.."

Now if the guy was in the States you could fly out and do the deal face to face (same as I did with Akachan).

It may be true.. do your due diligence and above all BECAREFUL!

This whole "ship the car / bike / laptop / nuclear missle from the UK" thing is big right now. Total scam.

 

I get nothing when I try to go to that website. I get redirected to some website that helps you build a business website or something. I googled the business site as well and nothing comes up for e-escrow company under that name.

I would ask him to agree to another escrow company that is legit and well known. Otherwise, tell him to take a hike.

 

UNless your in the market for a powerbook, dont even buy into it. Check the forsale forum for Revillusions(?) thread on "My car is not for sale!!" His car was listed for sale in FL and the UK, yet he isnt selling it. They also have the powerbook story on it too.

 

OK, got a few minutes so I went to http://www.betterwhois.com/ and looked up the domain registration. Although the betterbusinessupport.com website claims to have been in business since 2001, the domain was first registered ONLY (7) weeks ago, and they ONLY paid for (1) year of registration (most companies pay for a decade or so to make sure they don't lose the trade name), which means it isn't an established Escrow service and they aren't looking to hold onto it for very long.

For Fun, ask the seller how long he has been using the escrow company - and when he tells you years then ask how this is possible when it was only registered 7 weeks ago?

They claim to be in the UK, but it is hosted out of Monterey Park - so it is a LOCAL scammer!

Anyhow, Escrow service is the new sucker ploy. You get a great deal, and they point you to a well crafted website that LOOKs real and often sprinkled with "awards" - but it as fake as hell. This is not one of the better ones I have seen... but it will do for fooling people.
