I had a substitute teacher this evening for my Japanese class who
said, "your teacher isn't feeling well". A bit of an understatement.

When I got home, I received an email from my teacher. I say teacher,
but she is also a dear friend. I have been a teacher's assistant for her classes
for the past 4+ years, and have spent many hours talking, eating, drinking, and pontificating
about the Japanese language with her and our other Japanophile friends.

According to her email, the cancer is in her liver, breast, uterus, and stomach. She had it once before,
and fully recovered using homeopathic remedies (no chemo). She is determined to do this again.

Needless to say, she will no longer be teaching (for now), and has asked that we only
contact her through her son (this is very tough).

Please pray. Pray for her recovery, for wisdom for the doctors, and for peace
for her family and loved ones. We all have our own issues and problems, so
I'm not expecting anything dramatic, but if you can take a minute or so
and send a small prayer, I'd (and she will) appreciate it. Her name is Takako.
