Please help with some cell phone advice
Hi all just had a quick question. I am currently with ATT and don't have a problem with them at all except for the price. I saw an ad for T-Mobile with a ton of minutes for like half of what I am currently paying. Just curious if anyone has T-Mobile and likes the coverage. Are there a lot of times when you dont have coverage? Any help would be greatly appreciated also if anyone has a hook up I would much appreciate it. I tried to do a search but it didnt work sorry.

1000 mins may sound like alot, but its not if you consider that all the minutes you use comes that block.
You need to findout how long is your contract, and how much the cancellation feees are.
I thought that ATT is bought out by cingular, and shared towers with Tmobile? (=many phones with the same tower)
There is a guy on here "haimman:" that ownes his own cell phone shop and could help you. I am not sure if I spelled his screen name right.

Look at verizon or sprint. I have verizon and its great but the only problem I have is that if you want to do anything extra on the phone its not included in the service.
Sprint includes a lot of the extras with their service.

ok, here's the skinny on cell phones and cell phone companies.
-ATT was purchased by Cingular many months ago.
-Cingular and T-Mobile are sharing the same towers but T-Mobile has purchased all those towers from Cingular and as soon as the Cingular/ATT merger is complete all those towers will belong to T-Mobile and Cingular will be forced to use the GSM towers of ATT.
-one advantage with GSM technology is that it has a higher capacity than TDMA/CDMA. yes, you need more towers to support it but the network itself and all the supporting hardware like swtiches can handle more phones than the other systems.
-Verizon does have the largest network in the US but it also costs the most. but keep in mind that even MIGHTY Verizon has issues with reception as well. they have a lot of dead spots in their network that they will not admit to.
-if you're thinking about purchasing a T-Mobile phone go into a corporate store and ask them to run a Personal Coverage Check for you. it will tell you exactly where you will have coverage and where you won't. currently the only wireless company offering such a service and you have 14 days to cancel your contract if you're not satisfied with it. see some of the basic T-Mobile plans below. if you need more minutes just go online and check out the website.
I know all of this because I work in the wireless industry.

ive had sprint, nextel, tmobile, and verizon. you arent going to get away from "bad reception". but which has the least? .... the biggest and advanced network... verizon is the best hands down. sure the prices are a lil higher, but you get what you pay for..

Verizon will also let you test drive for 14 days, money back. Well All I know is Verizon was voted best last year of all the providers. There is no point in having 3000 mins, roll over mins, if you can't use them. I have 1000 mins-Unlimited Nights and weekends-Long Distance-Mobile to mobile for 50.00 a month. Customer Service picks up W/I 2-4 Mins, friendly, and even give you a one time freebee (if you over spend). I cancelled my LD and went to Arizona w/o knowing. I used 400 Mins in AZ trying to communicate with the AZ S2000 club. At .79 a min, X 400 mins= 300+ Phone Bill. I told them I made a mistake, and they said "We have a worry free guar., your problem is our problem. I'll go ahead and credit you the amount."
WOW.
