Cool Places to see in LA?

Hi all!

Ill be going up to LA in the end of Jan for my first USA Trip!

Any tips/places to see? whats the weather like? is it worth hiring a car? good clubs to visit?

Any advice/help would be great!

Cheers,

Steve

If you're in LA and it's your first time in the states, you have to do the touristy things just so you can say you did it.

This includes:
Disneyland / Disney California Adventure (although maybe you have a park in sydney right?)
Hollywood
China Town
Venice Beach

In terms of just getting away, driving through Mullholland Drive or Pacific Coast Highway would be a beautiful drive.
You can do beaches, Newport/Huntington are nice.

Food wise, you need to hit up the Kogi Truck if you like Korean food (i'm not a big fan...I hate kimchi)
In N Out Burgers
Hondaya Japanese Food
Original Pancake House for breakfast food
The Hat for good chili burgers
Phil's BBQ in San Diego for good bbq stuff

For the museum thing, go to the Getty Museum up in LA off of the fwy, take the tour they provide, it's free I believe

For clubs I don't know any specific ones, but the Gaslamp District in San Diego is a pretty chill place, I always have a good time. LA is ghetto as hell...

Have a great visit! Say hi if we're having a meet around the time you come down.

Getty, for sure.

Other things to check out:

- Hollywood / Highland for the touristy stuff (walk of fame, Kodak theater, etc). It's just down the road from where you're staying.
- Yamashiro for dinner (best view in the area -- ask to sit by the window)
- Beaches (Zuma in Malibu is great...I'd avoid Santa Monica as a beach, but it's fine for touristy stuff). Kind of a drive, but worth it if you're visiting LA.
- Mulholland Drive -- a street that runs the length of the mountains between LA and The Valley. Just to drive it...

AND YES YOU WILL NEED A CAR IN LA

I would definitely recommend The Getty Villa. One of the not so known hidden gems in LA.
