If no one answers, then I would advise you to interview an HR manager. Just say its for school.

Don't work in HR but I have friends that are recruiters. Very busy but they seem to like their jobs quite a bit. It's good pay (sorta commission based) and they interview hot chicks all the time.

I'm a recruiter, and yes I do love my job after commissions I make pretty decent money for someone who doesnt have their degree yet I only recruit for engineer/architects, so not too many hot chicks in that field of work...from my experience

I'm in an HR Generalist position. It all depends what you are looking for. You can specify your field to one certain area or go for an HR Generalist position that does everything, recruiting, benefits, payroll, compensation, workers comp (least favorite), etc.

I love my job. I talk with everyone in the office, I'm known by everyone in the office. Most the time what you are doing in the HR Field is paperwork. A lot of it is paperwork. Unless you are a recruiter, you talk to people and interview them everyday. But usually, I'm given something to do and I am working on it the majority of the time by myself. If you are a type of person that doesnt mind working by themselves then you are good to go. Starting at entry level is usually 35-40k. Based on experience as well.

HR is also pretty cool because you get a lot of the "scoop" before it goes down. You are usually the first to know everything. But the negatives to the job is you have to be able to separate your lives and be careful who your friends are. Most the time, people dont like you because they think, "Oooooh, it's HR, somethings up" if your door is closed and all. That and if you fire someone, they look down on you because you fired their friend and all that bullsh!t.

All in all, its a good job. IMHO.

I have been in the HR field for about 7 years (since I graduated from college) a college degree is a must if you want to climb the corporate HR ladder...

I am currently the HR Generalist at a high tech company in the Silicon Valley (norcal)...

I can't say I love my job, but I do enjoy what I do... it

Pay (for the SF Bay Area - High tech companies)
-0-1 year experience: about $20/ hour starting as a HR Assistance
-2-3 years experience: about 40K+ per year as a HR Coordinator
-3+ years experience: 50+K - 60K+ per year as a starting HR Generalist
-5+ years experience: 60K+ - 90+K per year as a Sr. HR Genralist (my current range)
-10+ years: HR Manager: 80k+ - 100k+
-HR Director: 100K+
-VP of HR: Anywhere from 150K - 250K per year

Cons:
-I lay off good people with families to feed (very sad to see a person cry)
-some people think you are the "cops" of the company and keep quite when you walk their way.
-Paper, paper, paper, you document everything... (For audit reasons)

Hope this helps...
Is this a big company or small company? The pay scale? It sounds a bit low. I know HR recruiters can make tons of money if they hire a lot of people.
