hope this isn't a repost, havent seen it yet. but beginning april 18, 2009, if you have an 818 area code (SF valley and parts of SCV) you'll have to dial the area code + 7 digit number in order to complete your call.

Its been going on in the 310 for a while now. In the 310 area we have to dial 1, then area code +7, and at work I have to dial 9 to get out of the company, thats 12 numbers total.

I think that if you get a new line in May, you will automatically be assigned a 747 number. In other words, no more 818 numbers!

happend in the 714 too. they are splitting orange county/adding a new area code.
