Default Paint/Body Shop Recommendations in LA County

Hey guys,

Got into a fender bender less than 24 hours after I got my car out of the shop. Wasn't very happy with the work done on my front end, so I GUESS it could be a blessing in disguise.

I'm looking to stay in the LA area, but would consider Orange County as well. I just want my car to come back to me perfect.

Thanks in advance.

Damage: Shine Amuse-style bumper dented in, and rear bumper slight damage (chevrolet license plate frame nicely indented into my rear bumper).

What didn't you like about the work you had done at the shop you used originally; paint match? paint quality? wavey bumper? bumper fitment? all of the above?

I can refer you to some places but wherever you go be sure to tell them how picky you are and your expectations up front for an accurate estimate to do the job right.

I do recommend DTM Autobody. I m about to bring my car to them real soon for full paint job.
I check out their shop before I made that decision and I saw a lot of s2000 there.
Ask for David and tell him Chin send you.

Hey leester,

Paint match was fine, but there were cracks in the bumper that he claimed were part of the bumper and not the paint and said it'd be impossible to get rid of them. I thought that was kind of strange.

Also bumper fitment, b/c apparently the Shine Amuse replica bumper doesnt fit as well as their ASM bumper.

I plan on telling the next body shop my expectations for sure. I didn't want to be anal to the previous shop because it was my friend's cousin's spot.

Thanks BBP, I'll call them up and see what's up. I was referred to another body shop in El Monte too, and I'll probably hit up both for estimates.

He could have sanded your bumper and reapply bondo to seal the crack, he prob gave you a quote so low he didn't bother doing it?

If you want to come to Walnut area, there's a top notch shop here called K&W, but they may be pricey

Ahh. Someone PM'ed me with K&W recommendation. I'm down there often to play golf, but it'd be out of the way to drop my car off over there.
