Out of towner needs restaurant recommendations
My sister is graduating from UCLA next weekend and we're going out to Sunday brunch - group of 20 people - any recommendations on restaurants that could accomodate groups would be awesome!
Thanks!

Not more than $25/person I guess... Italian, Chinese, American, etc...
We're thinking of Grand Lux Cafe or maybe Dim Sum. Any fancy Dim Sum restaurants in the LA area? Not Maggiano's please.

There's an interesting place called Alessio. Just about everything on the menu is $15-$20, and their pasta is excellent. Best thing to say about this place is the service is great. They have a location in Fallbrook and one in Northridge. I've gone there with large parties for company lunches and they can handle it with advance notice. A bit more relaxed than Maggiano's, everyone can order what they want, and you can relax there too.
They can get crowded at times so if you consider them you had better call in advance.
In Simi Valley there's Dakota's, they have good food and service, but I have never seen them crowded. Most menu items run from $17-29. But they are a bit far.
One secret little place is The Sherman Room. 18 (or 21? I forgot) and over only. Looks like a bar/strip joint from the outside, but it's a bar and restaurant. Food is great and inexpensive (Steak, Steak and lobster, Steak and shrimp). Don't know if they do groups. Caters mostly to the older crowd (30-40+), don't see 20-somethings there very often.

there is the windows restaurant that you will have a city view of Los Angeles, from the top of the transamerica building, or the restaurant in the Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown LA, or you can go to the Stinkin Rose in Los Angeles on La Cienega ...
