my dad is a cop, and i've had about 4 speeding tickets in the past.... from my experience, if you contest the ticket, and the cop shows up, then you wont be able to attend traffic school.... if you admit fault, then you have the option of traffic school... however, if you contest the ticket and the cop doesnt show up, then you're fine...

Thanks for the info guys, I guess the question is. With the speed im going 80mph. Should I try and ask for a reduction and get over with it? or fight it on a written dispute? lawyer?

I got a ticket last 17 months ago, so i'm not sure if i can take traffic school. I heard if you ask the judge they just give em to you...

It's technically 18 months so ask for an extension and then pay and request traffic school. The judge should understand, but just get the extension or two extensions. I have even asked for a reducement on the fine and it works. I extended the ticket once to make time, then twice and the second time I was in I asked to reduce the fine cause I said I can't pay it, I'm a student, yada, yada, yada. It worked though. If all else fails, break down and cry!!! Some chick did that and he only made her pay a reduced fine and no point and no traffic school needed. Ughh!!! WOMEN!

Easy. Follow the advice above and you're good to go. Get an extension then go up and talk to the judge to sign up for traffic school.
