Not many Vietnamese people are illegal. Dont have any official figures but I would wager per capital there are a lot of less illegal Vietnamese people due to the political amnesty the US provided them after the War. Also the proximity of the border helps contribute to the influx of illegal Mexicans. So no, it's not comparable at all.

Yea, I'd have to agree here, I know quite a few Viet homies and even among them illegals are a far more rare thing from what I gather.
The Chinese illegal immigrants come here through either someone really rich or through illegal human trafficking/sweat shop type operations, definitely not sole individuals that just hire a coyote.
Brings up an interesting question I don't have any knowledge on though, how come more Mexican Americans don't sponsor their families here? Mexicans have been here much longer than the Vietnamese. Am I just not seeing it or is it more difficult for some particular reason.
