I don't really eat veggies and fruits, but i'm incorporating them now. You can also judge food by how it looks. It's kind of general knowledge. Once you hit the point where you're disgusted with yourself, you'll change. I hit that point Feb 15th. I hated the mirror.

As well as the right program. If you're noticing more muscle, don't concentrate on the number, as muscle is denser than fat, and weighs more. As I tell everyone, and myself... Look at pictures and the mirror. Those are the only true indicators, aside from a REAL bf test, and those are very hard to come by.
