Only reason I didn't say Pasadena is because it's too crowded and she might have to be too close to you before she's ready

Probably out somewhere public enough to walk around at. That way there's a sense of security that you're not taking her to an alley, but also strange enough to where you're the only one she knows and that will cause her to want to bond more easily. At a restaurant right away, she can always get distracted by her meal or the other people talking. She could also shy away from talking about herself too much around a bunch of strangers. Somewhere to talk or talk similar to 3rd st. is my call, and then dinner or coffee, depending how she feels.
