I haven't installed my front plate since I can't figure out how to mount the plate holder. I think I'm missing some parts. Can you get away with placing the plate on your dash board? I keep my plate and mounts in the car, so if a cop pulls me over I can ask him how the hells it go on!

In SD, no front plate turns into "illegal modifications"

I just run with a front plate and let my canyon carving be cool. :-)

Is it really hard (or impossible) to get the screw hole plugs out once they're in? If they came out easy, I'd say just take 'em out, screw the damn plate in, show the cop, then take it off again.

The front plate holder is pretty complex, I just took it off my new S, and it has this bracket that screws inside the grille area, PITA to get to.

I think some areas are cracking down more since they started using the cameras to take pix of people running red lights in intersections.
