How about the seddlepeak lodge? You can enjoy the Malibu canyons on the way there. In case you had a few glass too many, just spend the night there.

Cafe Catalina in Redondo Beach. The place is tiny with like 8 tables, the ambiance adequate, and the food towards the expensive side, but the Chef is AMAZING, a true prodigy. With the small place he handles every aspect of food preparation himself, right down to hand-selecting the ingredients.
