Hmm..... thinking, my grandfather owns a winery I'm trying to think what those wine snobs do lol.

Do they ski? ski pass????

golf isn't bad, but it's hard to pick clothing especially for an older male.

weekend trip for 2 to a local city nothing too big just a get away for a weekend.

Try to think of things that anyone would appreciate rather then the fact they' loaded already, if it was just obtaining it, they'd pay for it themselves. Try to do something that saves them their time or hassle and is enjoyable.

Maybe some golf lessons for him?

Wine accessories? They make a million little fun toys for wine enjoyment. A little chiller fridge for the perfect wine temp? IDK

ROOMBA VACUUM ROBOT FTW!!!!! haha good suggestion.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Its tough.

Marriage:
I would have already married her if they would allow it, she needs to be in med school before its even an option. We have talked about it though (6 years together)

Ski pass:
They own a condo in mammoth and get the passes with the homeowners dues

Grandson:
HELL NO, no kid takin my wheel time away

Test drive the S:
I want to drive his 360 Modena so maybe he will trade

Roomba:
Dont think the live in maid would mind, but they might think she was slackin.

The search continues. BUT i do have my GF workin on it.

Sounds like you're screwed.

This could complement whatever other thing it is that you'll think of giving.

Oh yeah, going off what Escalvante said, there's Urasawa in Beverly Hills, if you can afford it.

Reviews:

Pic of a $1000 receipt:

Starts at $250/person, and they only seat 10 people per night. I've been meaning to try it when I have the financial means to do so.

More thorough review:

"We really enjoyed Hiro-san's philosophy of service and quality, his gentle nature, and his funny stories (Janet Jackson leaving when she was told she couldn't get a spider roll there, Ricky Martin's manager pleading on the phone for Hiro to include a "spicy tuna roll" in the evening's menu)."

ugh... F-car vs. a Japanese tin-can... i'd ixnay that gift idea in a jiffy.

seriously, you're up a sh*t creek and everyone's right. go for a gift of "experience" vs. material. take 'em horseback riding, hot air balloon ride, etc. anything that typical Chinesers don't do.

btw, more/better urasawa food pr0n on flicker:

the U doesn't HAVE to be $1K for 2. i know peeps who've gotten out under $250/pp.
