Default Need Info. about a ticket citation

Hi, has anybody in her ever got a citation for speeding? Citation 22349 A, I was going 86 mph on a 50 zone. It has been awhile since I got a ticket, i think the last time was about 5 years ago. I usually don't drive fast but apparently that day I was checking out my clutch.

Anyways, I got the citation letter but did not inform me about my bail amount. It says "Mandatory Appearance" on the notice.... Has anybody experince this? How much would this ticket cost me?

Thanks!!!

I've never heard of that before. No bail amount could be a good thing or a very very bad thing.

I always suggest looking at http://www.ticketassassin.com for advice.

Ticketassassin is ok... I had the exact same citation, but with a higher speed. The ticketasssasin dude needs to help you out specifically. In my case he didn't respond to my messages even though I had paid my fees for the site, and I pretty much got screwed. You have to show up to court unless TA.com gives you actual information on how to request not having to attent. This is different from the usual Written declaration that he advises. The ticket might cost you about... $300-400 after all the fees. I ponied up for it and it was in that range. Traffic school is not available for that type of citation either. So good luck. If the TA.com can help you in a timely manner, then you might not have to attend and then should have a chance to use a written delcaration and perhaps beat it. Good luck.

You MUST make an appearance if it says "mandatory appearance". I had one of those for an 85+ in a 55. I showed up, fine was $500. I had to appear in front of the judge, make my plea (guilty, not guilty, or no contest). I plead guilty. Judge dropped my fine to about $110 and gave me 12 hour traffic school. I already had traffic school within the last 18 months but I asked the judge realllllll nice if I could attend again. He agreed and gave me the extended traffic school. The judge can pretty much do what he wants. Dress nice, be courteous to the judge, don't BS him. Everyone that tried BSing either had their original super high fine upheld or was set for another trial date. If you plead not guilty they set another trial and give the cop an opportunity to show up, if you plead guilty they decide your fine/fate right there.

Not in my experience. I got nailed for 28 over a few years back and took traffic school to keep it off my record. It must be less than 100mph.

As stated above, there are exceptions. Depends how the Judge interprets and the CVC infraction listed on the ticket. For example, speeding on the fwy could be listed under CVC Sections 22354 & 22355 (1 point) or Section 23103 (2 points, reckless driving).
