Need to get new tires... dilemma
I know this question comes up a lot but i searched and i don't think they really match my situation. Not only that, i'm in a bit of a hurry.
Situation:
I have two rear bald tires and fronts with.... oh about 40% tread life left (still kind of meaty). I was running RE050a PP's and the rears are at $155 per tire (excluding tax and shipping). I don't track my car or anything, i just bought nice tires because i was learning the dynamics of a rear wheel drive car.
Dilemma:
At about $350 to replace just the rears, i'm considering my options. I of course want new wheels (like the RPF1s) but i'm in no position to be spending money. Some AP1 wheels are going for about $300 with tires with some meat on them so i was considering that.
My options:
A) Just replace the rears with some cheaper tires (maybe some kumhos)
B) Try find some AP1s with tires.
C) Buy new wheels...?
D) what do you think?
I'm not sure what i want to do. I need to try and save money so please keep that in mind. Anyways, just curious at what most of you guys/gals do when you guys wear out your rear tires.

Well I'm definitely leaning towards getting just new rear tires but shelling out $350 for just two rears seems a bit much. I remember i bought them a while back for $120 each i think. I could just replace all four with Kumhos Ecsta SPT for pretty much the same price as getting just two RE050a PP.
I'll be PMing s2000mf right now. Thanks!
Does anybody just run two different rears then the fronts?

DON'T RUN DIFFERENT TIRES!! Either get all four new tires or get RE050s for the rear. These cars are crazy when you mix the tires. I learned the hard way once and I will never, ever mix tires again.

Thanks Kyras. I read that during my search, but never as explicitly as you put it. I'm glad you said it so i don't have to even consider it or even consider it an option.

what size tires are you looking for? 16's or 17's?
I have a pair of REO50's with about 40% left on them. They're in 17"
PM me for more details
