Need to borrow MAC OS X install disc
Anyone in SoCal have a the MAC OS X install disc I can borrow? Another thing, is there anyway I can install bootcamp, since it seems like my macbook pro doesn't have it installed? Would I need the leopard install disc to do so?
Im in the SGV.
Thanks.

The OS X disc that comes with the computers only has drivers for the computer it came with. It may or may not work with other machines, and probably won't for newer ones. The retail discs have drivers for everything, so you probably want that.
You do and don't need the OS X Install disc for Boot Camp. If you installed Leopard/Snow Leopard, then you have it in Applications/Utilities/Boot Camp Assistant. You will need a windows install disc. The minimum used to be WinXP SP3, but I think it was recently changed to Vista/7. The reason you would need the OS X install disc is that it contains the drivers Windows will need to make use of Apple's hardware. So once windows is installed, you put in the OS X install disc and it installs all the drivers. I'm not sure if you can get around this by just downloading the drivers or not. I've always just used the disc.
I do have the disc, but I dunno if I can get out to SGV to get it to you.
