Nasa HPDE March 4- 6
Is anyone going to the HPDE event on March 4-6 at California Speedway?
I am hoping to make it my first track event! My car is totally stock though, so does anyone know if roll bars are required for convertibles? I know that NASA allows the S2000 to run without one. I know that it'd be better if I got one for safety reasons, but since I don't think I'll be going that fast and have an instructor, I rather make sure I am going to commit to going out more before I spend the money.
Hope to see some of you guys there!

You'll be fine but you should never assume that your surrounded by controlled individuals especially during a HPDE especially in group 1 especially.
Can I say especially again.
You have to assume that they are completely out of control repressed road rage pseudo racers hell bent on running guiness record lap times in there shxt box
Then you'll have the right mind set for a race track with other cars on it.
Oh and skip the caffine you'll need to be able to not only pay attention to the road but your instructor

Hehehe okay thanks guys!
It's $220 for either Saturday or Sunday and $340 for both. I'd do both but I have stuff to do on Saturday so I can only go on Sunday =[
That seems to be pretty expensive compared to speedventures or ExtremeSpeedTrackEvents though, but hopefully it will be worth it.

It's 8K to rent out cali or so for a day and NASA has alot of trained people to pay and it needs to make enough profit for it's other activities. Other tracks can be less than half the cost to rent.
The benefit though is the people available to you during a Nasa event. And the level of professionalism.
