Hi Guys... whats the difference between these 2 brand thermostats besides the 40 buck premium for mooogen??

Anyone have any experience with either?

 

Some time attack people say the mishimoto chinese ones are crap. What's wrong with plain old OEM? Thermostats are cheap, yet are too vital to make gambles on.

 

Im thinking my OEM one is faulty... always an excuse to upgrade. Anyway... i'm due for a coolant flush. I think i will change out the thermostat while the cooling system is empty... just dont know what to buy!

 

i have a j's racing thermostat. still NIB. haven't had time to install it and probably won't

 

possibly the temp the open up at.

the J's and Mugen open at the same temp....the spoon one opens earlier. don't know what the mishi opens at though.

 

i would pick mugen over mishitmoto anyday.

but i have a J's

Mugen, Spoon, J's=made by OEM supplier to Honda at requested spec.
Mishimoto=made by ?
With that said thermostats are a pretty simple component to manufacture so I wouldn't knock the Mishimoto unless I've heard of a actual failure.
