Misfire in all 4 cylinders
hey guys.. Took my car into the local shop because of a CEL. They pulled the code and all 4 cylinders misfiring. they reset it and told me to come back again when it turns on. CEL came back and it pulled the same code. all 4 cylinders misfiring. They checked the coil packs, spark plugs, ignition, and did a compression test. Everything came out ok. Anyone have this problem before? Any Ideas?

All four..... well we know it has to be electrical then and being coil on plug we can probably rule it out until the point that they are all controlled. Start there.

Since you already checked ignition and comp test came back good, could be injectors. That's what mine ended up being. There's a huge thread about it in the underhood section.

FYI - when the s2k ecu says misfire in all four cylinders, most likely it has misfire in just one cyl. The ecu doesn't know where its misfire so it just throws codes for all four and then a fifth saying multiple misfire. I doubt your coil packs are bad and if your plugs are good, then its either the valve adjustment is too tight on the exhaust side or you have bent valves. Hopefully its the valve adjustment. Compression test won't always catch bent valves, which S2ks are notorious for because of driver error and miss shifts. I currently am working on 3 s2ks at my shop because of this.
