May be Moving to LA...Where to Live?
Hey,
I may be moving to LA in the next month or so and was wondering where I should live, or if anyone knows of anyone looking for a roomate or a good building?
I am thinking Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, or Santa Monica are the neighborhoods I will be looking at, I would be working near the Grove Mall, )3rd & Fairfax) any good advice would be appreciated.
Oh, I am 24,M, who likes to go out as well so the neighborhood should suit me.
Cheers,

If you're working near the Grove, you're better off living in West Hollywood as that is much closer than the aforementioned places. Commuting from Manhattan Beach to the Grove is not a fun thing to do.

I live down in Torrance, which is very close to Hermosa and Manhattan Beach. This area is known as the South Bay, and the Grove is a pretty time consuming drive. It's not far, but traffic is pretty bad all the way up there, plus, the Grove is pretty far from any freeway.

I'm also originally from torrance, south bay area, very nice area with clean ocean breezes, good locations...in irvine now, orange county, by far the best area to live in california...beaches, babes, and beers..that's the life.

thanks for the info, OC is definitly a no-no...I have visited Newport Beach a lot and love it but I am working near the Grove...however when you say the drive sucks from MB how long do you think it would take, can't I take tehe 405 to the 10? I am used to commuting about 45 mins. each way in Chicago so I am fine with a certain amount of driving, especially since I will be able to drive the S year round.
