Malibu Canyons - Alot of Cops Lately
Every few weeks I take a ride through some of the Malibu (Santa Monica Mountains) for a joy ride.
I will not mention the roads by name, however, lately I've seen actual speed traps where I would never expect to see them. These are pretty isolated roads with almost no cars. For some reason, I've whipped around curves and seen cops (with radar) sitting on top of ridges. This has now happened twice in a two week period on a weekday.
I know theres other LA S2K drivers who use these same mountain roads to
, keep your eyes open.

There is an article in the new Import Tuner that talks about people with hooked up cars going through the canyons and apparently task forces are being set up and cops are starting to crack down heavily. My last few times out on my local canyon I've seen cops too, when I never used to. The article said that the increase in police activity in the canyons is due to the drift craze and the large number of people attempting drifts and driving well beyond there limits. Also, alot of residents of these areas are complaining too about noise and the fear of just driving to and from home.
Glendora Mountain Road is supposed to be very heavily watched now and an officer was quoted saying something like, any cars with modifications or driving recklessly will
