Looking at buying my first S2k
Hey all, been lurking here for a bit and thought I'd ask for some opinions. I don't know if the person I am looking at the car is on here, but oh well. I am looking at an '02 Sebring Silver S2k. The car has under 50k miles and is going for a really good price. I have a few problems with it (I'm very picky) and I want to see if they are warranted at all.
Firstly, The carpet has some tears near the feet of the driver. It looks like the molded kit is torn and is not really repairable. Next, there is a decent chip in the rear bumper near the wheel well. And finally there is a quarter-sized tear in the convertible top. I know these are all pretty minor things, but I was wondering how expensive they would be to fix. Also, if any of you have a mechanic in the SGV I would like a name/number so I can have them check this car out before I buy it.
Any information or opinions are completely welcomed.

You can get all new carpet from the dealer and pay around $300. Install yourself or ask for help. There are plenty of helpful knowledgable people on this board. The soft top you can find used in the $600 -$700 range. As far as the paint, well, I'm sure you can get a quote on that.

The top is an issue that you can live with, Honda may cover it for you.
The Footwell needs Ricks Full floormats (mandatory IMO) to cover it up, it wears out easy due to sticking up there.
The rear 1/4 will need a full repaint, but take pics and document it if you ever go to sell it, at least you have proof that is was not an accident.
BUY IT, you only live once
