Default Little Help Here, Please.....

I've got a Veilside V1 spoiler that tried to come off on the drive out to MM7...

I want to screw the sucker down, so I'd like to get the holes in the same spot as the OEM rear spoiler.

Anyone have the templete for the hole locations?

TIA

Laird

I thought the two spots are marked by an indentation on the metal?

do veilside spoiler comes w/ bolt on the bottom of the spoiler? if not, are you going to drill a screw from top of the spoiler down to trunk?

No studs.....just going to drill a hole in the OEM spots and put a sheet metal screw into the bottom of the Veilside from the inside of the trunk.

When I painted my Veilside, I used sheet metal screws to hold it to a fixture, and it worked fine, so this should work as well. It doesn't need much....just something to keep it falling off on the freeway, like it almost did

I kinda thought the OEM spoiler would come with a templete as to where to drill the holes....but I'll go take a look.

most of times, inside the c/f products are empty. so only thing that's going to hold the spoiler is outside layer. i dont think it's a good idea to hold the spoiler by tapping a screw undereath the spoiler. I think it's going to get loosen after times and it may fly out of the car. you should consider molding a bolt w/ fiber glass inside the spoiler to keep the spoiler tighten.

This one was glass. There was at least 1/8" of material in the bottom. There was NO problem getting a #8 sheet metal screw to hold it to the paint fixure, so it'll work here, easy.

I'll still use a double sided take, but this is just insurance.
