LG Chocalate phone..or good old Nokia?
long story short, im going to switch to verizon and will probably get the LG "Chocolate" phone from amazon. basically free after rebates. i always get my phones thru amazon, best deals.
any other reviews other than on amazon? hows coverage in socal for verizon?
also, any tips on getting out of cancellation fees from cingular? i have a year to go in a 2 year contract.

Personally I love the phone. There are a few things you need to get if you want the music which is the Music Essentials Kit. So far I haven't encountered any trouble with the coverage in SoCal (I'm in the Mission Viejo area).

for socal nothing beats verizon for overall coverage. all the BS u hear in cingulars comercials about fewest dropped calls is true. i mean, your call cannot be dropped if you dont have a signal to make/receive a call, right?

I have Verizon with a different phone (Treo 700) and I personally do NOT like Verizon. I dont get signal inside most buildings both in OC and LA....
I also have the GSM Chocolate which is 'aiight' at best. At first its fun and looks cool..... But having the 'end' button on the side and the sensitive touch button pad turns into a PITA.

service inside buildings is a problem not unique to verizon. if verizon doesnt have service inside a building, you can be damn sure cingular or tmobile wont have service either.

I HATE Cingular, yet that phone has signal many times more than my Verizon does.
If my Verizon doesnt have signal - which is often, my Cingular will still have signal about 80% of the time.
The only reason I stay with Verizon is for the phone. But due to their horrible service (at least for me) and disappointing customer service I may opt out with my ETF.
