Ah, such exuberance! Nice.

Autocross is great fun! You'll have a wonderful time. You may find you are quite exhausted after, though. We won't be insulted if you decide sleeping in Sunday after that full day of hard driving and cone-shagging is something you really need.

cone shagging = working the course in your off session

I ended up trying to go on Mulholland Drive after going to see the Jay Leno show (front and center seats, fantastic) and to my disappointment I ended up on some other canyon to the coast. To make matters worst, I was stuck behind a Kia from Arizona who hasn't heard of a turnout before. Oh well.

You wanted Mulholland HIGHWAY not Drive. Common mistake, but makes all the difference in the world. Bummer about the traffic. That's when you take a turn-out and enjoy a scenic view for awhile to let the other traffic go on.

Yeah, that was it. Oh well, it was a long drive out there. The road was packed with traffic. There's no escape.

^^ Ah, bummer. Goes that way sometimes no matter where you are. I wonder if maybe you ended up on Malibu Canyon (Las Virgenes) or Topanga Canyon instead? Those are larger roads, take you out to PCH, and are always heavily traveled by locals commuting. Lovely scenery, but not highly technical roads. And definitely heavily trafficked.
