Was up there this morning. It started out overcast (humid but no rain), and didn't burn off till around 10:30. Might be early enough tomorrow to skip the sunblock. Your call.
Loads of bicycles, so keep an eye out. Didn't see much LE, but saw enough to remind people not to be stupid.

It just doesn't work that way. It's like left or right. Up or down. In or out (and close the door... what, were you raised in a barn? You're letting all the air conditioning out!).

Thanks for the update! Very helpful.
I've gotten my worst burns when it was overcast. Mostly because I didn't realize I was getting all pelted by UV rays since it was cool and foggy. Oops.

Great drive today. Safe and uneventful (in a good way!) and fun. The new meet up location is great. LOVE it. Hint for those who decide to come out next month, use the back entrance off Malibu Road where the delivery trucks come in (just take it slow since employees hang out back there) because it has no speed bumps.
Here are some pics I've uploaded:

And here is a video walk of the cars up at the Snake.

Only other comments I have about the drive are 1) remember to mind those following distances and leave space -- particularly if you happen to be behind a car with really good brakes, and 2) don't forget the sunscreen if you don't want a burnt nose. ;-)

Oddly enough, traffic was light, cops were there but not overly oppressively. Or at least not where we were, anyway. It all went very smoothly. I admit, I missed some of our usual roads, but it was a good run. I think, with the earlier start time, and if we have similar turn out next month, we could conceivably implement a Plan B and have an alternate, slightly longer second half of the drive from what we did today. Probably wouldn't work well with a big group, but not too bad with a small one.
We'll see. :-)

Damn, where was I when this thread is up?! Instead I went down to Irvine to watch the SCCA Solo2 AutoX.
Then again, it's only been day two since I put the Ap2 on CA roads. Now I'm an official Vtec Addict.
Been on that route many times, Glad you stress about safety since this is a popular route & the CHP knows about it two.
I'd seen them (yea more than one) just waiting in the middle. It was funny to watch those supercars crawling in idle speed under watchful eyes.
Until the next times I guess!
