Bummer about the deer and the damage, BDS2000. It's unfortunate, but it happens. Thanks for the vivid reminder to us all!
Thanks for the PM head's up. We do discuss the need for leaving "oh sh!t" room when driving out there and I do specifically mention in my so-called safety nazi speech before we drive out that one of the road hazzards we deal with is wildlife. I've seen deer out there a few times. They are most active at dawn and dusk, but they can be an issue at any time of day.
In the first post on this thread I do also try to help remind people of what we should all be aware of all the time anyway:
This is a very spirited drive (not a cruise), but we keep it safe. No crossing the double yellow, be mindful we are sharing the roads with other cars, bicycles, motorcycles, joggers, and sometimes even the local wildlife, coming to complete and full stops at all stop signs and red lights, keeping top speed near the posted limit on the straightaways, and just generally not being stupid. Nobody wants to crash or get a ticket, but we do want to enjoy what the S2000 was designed to do best.
be careful out there, y'all. :-)
