I don't remember voting on giving law enforcement the right to crush my (the banks) car.

One of the guys here (radrodsomething) is a autoshop teacher. he took the kids on a fieldtrip to watch the street racer's cars get crushed. So the cops are doing it.

wow..didnt think this many would defend street racers..
you do the crime you do the time.
but i do agree w/ oc-s2k...drunk drivers kill far more then street racers.. its just people think alcohol is cool and street racing isnt as cool to the majority. thats life.

i think both should have it done. eye for an eye.

i don't think we're defending street racing. Any cop can pull you over for speeding and say you were street racing and crush your car. Even if you're still making payments.

This is ridiculous... And a huge waste!! If they have the
right to impound the cars, why not just part them out instead
of wasting a perfectly good car? That article made me
MAD! I hate seeing that kind of waste.

As others have said, revoke the guys license or something,
put him in jail, whatever. Don't take his car and destroy it.

you do the crime you do the time.
Uhh... I don't see how this makes any sense.
How is "we crush your car" == "do the time"??

If I have a party at my house and give everyone dope,
the police can now seize my house and burn it down?

What the hell kinda country is this?

Finally,
"Officials say there are some legal drag strips open to the motorist
who want to test their cars against other cars, and they suggest that
they use them. In the long run, it would be far safer far less expensive."
LOAD OF CRAP! How many drag strips or raceways do we have left?
Palmdale closes down next month, BTW. And how much do they cost each
time we avail ourselves of the services?

Punishment doesn't fit the crime.
