Post It's time the 04 RIMS DROOOP in price!

As you guys all know, there are MANY 04+ rims out there (Socal) that has no tires. Why is this? The 04 tires are 900.00 in cost. It's more strategic now to buy a WHOLE set for 1000.00 and sell of the rims and recoup the tires.

Not pointing fingers at anyone, but someone got to make this 1st move. (That's me)

Why would ANYone buy a set of rims Without TIRES for 800? 700? 600? 500? or even 400?

Even at 400, it would cost 900 in tires from Arnel, which would put these rims at 1,300.00. For 1000.00, and if you're good at negociating, 900.00 and you get a new set.

Lets hear some inputs. No flame please. I sold my 04 set already for 1,X00.00

When we are done with this topic, I'll start up another topic about REPLACEMENT TOPS. (This should be good)

well, if you think about it, someone who has pre04 rims and is infatuated with 04 rims thinks he is getting a deal by upgrading his rims for $700. chances are, they are not going to slap the re050's on there if they buy just the rims. so it wouldn't be $700+$900. i'm sure they would like to keep the tire cost to a minimum. so, to some, it is a good deal, to others, not a good deal. it all depends on how much you WANT the wheels to begin with.

Good point. I would not buy rims w/out tires.

I'll need to replace my tires on oem 16s soon. Instead of shelling out 600+ for SO2s, I'm thinking of just getting oem 17s w/ tires for $1000 or less but I suck at negotiating skills =)

Whew....good thing you guys are only talking about 04 rims.

As long as the price of my 05 rims don't go down...I'm all good.

Meth,

700 for the rims and 450.00 for Fusion tire (Cheapest setup)
100.00 each tire and 50 to mount and balance.

1150 is still not a great deal, considering you can do 900 for a new set.

I totally agree. 04 rims are pricey and the worst part is....they are STOCK rims. i would have to say that ive been looking for 04 & 05 rims for a while, but im in no rush. looking for the right price. i still have 90% tread left on the rears and 50% left on the fronts of my stock 02. if anyone is looking to get rid of theirs w/ or without tire. shoot me a pm and maybe we can work out a compromise that works for both of us.
