iphone 3G car charger

iphone 3G car charger
I've been thru 2 'iphone' cell phone chargers for the car from meritline.com in the past week.
Iphone 3g keeps saying 'charging not supported on this accessory' every time i plug in.
After some research, i discovered that all of apples products that use the Ipod connector can charge with either Firewire (12v) OR USB (5v)... up until the 3G, which no longer supports firewire, which most car chargers use (since its already 12v).
Question is... do any of you 3G owners know of a 12v car charger that will charge the 3G? If so, link me to where you bought it! Thanks in advance.

I just got a universal USB car charger from dealextreme.com that is supposed to work with the 3G, but I haven't tried it yet. I will try it when I get home and let you know

This one is a little more full-featured (comes with an FM transmitter and mount), and I've read that it does indeed work with the iPhone 3G

prob cost like 25 bucks huh. Im gonna dismantle it and put it in a custom s2000 mount, so i dont wanna spend too much. all i really need are the connectors.

But the extra USB iPhone cables I got from them work fine. I may end up going the eBay route...
