17mph in 3rd, if on stock gears we dont have the torque to spin out, unless u jerked the wheel REALLY hard and FAST... maybe your tires are flat, and bald, and u suck at driving?

3rd gear at 17mph wont save you any gas.... you'd be at like 1700 rpm! thats lugging the engine like crazy

Sell the car . Get a Yugo.


I find when I drive the car harder, my mileage improves. The car is tuned higher so it is probably more efficient at higher revs and it burns out the crap in the engine.

Lower RPMs does not equal higher MPG in the S. I don't understand why so many people are concerned with MPG in a high-revving sportscar??
