anyone know what this is? hope it's not a termite!
i should say, if it's not a termite (which i'm starting to think it is not), then i don't care much about what it is. I just don't want my new home to be infested with those darn wood destroyers!
EDIT: NOT a termite, per K.K. Termites. SO HAPPY.
UPDATE 6/11/10: Identified as Drywood Termites.![cry.gif](https://www.s2ki.com/forums/images/smilies/cry.gif)

dang i hope not! at first i thought it was b/c it's on the wooden baseboard and it has pinchers and 6 legs. But all the pictures i see show then with a fully ribbed body and this one didn't seem to have a ribbed body.

It really looks to be exactly a termite judging from those pics, though I've seen termites look different there could be of course many types.
It isn't ribbed though as you pointed out. I'd catch it and ask a pro.

^ This should be done by the .....whats the name of the person that does the inspections (inspector we'll call him) and he should be held responsible if damage has been there prior to inspection period.
