Do yourself a huge favor and hire an attorney on this one. It sounds to me like you could beat it, but not without help.

These folks can help you: http://www.prepaidlegal.com/info/rrlevine

take it to court if it really wasnt you. Thats what i would do, and tell them to show you some time of proof? video footage from the patrol car, with you in the picture, radar gun etc.
BS........JUST FIGHT IT

He cannot give you a ticket if he "thought" it was you speeding/racing

He has to have video evidence or a radar/laser gun evidence, or confirm he was pacing you at XX speed for XX time. If he was pacing, he would have onboard video of it.

You can fight this one easy man. Just take notes, write down your story so you remember it clean, and show up in court.

Your line about "judges believing cops 90% of the time" is baloney

If your story is legit, you can beat this with preparation and truth

The exhaust is the least of your worries, just get it signed off

The judge does take the officers side over the defendant. If the cop says you ran a red light, you say you didn't, who do you think they are going to believe?

Sucks, supposed to be innocent till proven guilty, but it's not the case. How much proof does a cop really have when he/she gives you a ticket? For the most part it's their word Vs yours. They usually win.

fight it... you might win... hell he may never even show up. but just for the record chairmnofthboard made a very good point. A cop can put whatever he wants on the police report and say whatever he wants it is your word against his in court and believe me the judge doesnt see to fond of anybody else but the "law". Good luck none the less.
