Hub bearing
#11
People that are local to Corner3garage in lake forest should go here for thier bearing/hub replacement. Ask for Steve or Nima and tell them Daniel with the yellow S sent you.
Anyways, I just sent this pm to another member with the same problem:
Hello,
What kind of sound is your bad bearing/hub making. I recently took my car to the shop to fix a rotational squeaking/groaning noise I had on the driver's side. I was convinced that it was the bearing after checking out the following links:
HELP: Horrible sound: Bad wheel bearing? right rear wheel

Rear Wheel Bearing Going Out?

How many of you have had rear wheel bearing failures?

Steve at Corner 3 in lake forest (highly recommended) wanted to do a bunch of diagnostic checks before replacing the bearing and hub (was quoted 126.27 for hub and 75.07 for the bearing+150 max for labor) because he was pretty convinced that it didnt sound like the bearing.
Long story short, he fixed my problem by greasing or lubing some axel nut. All the diagnostic work took about two hours but he only charged me for one. Less than $80 later, I was out of there good as new.
SOOOO....make sure it really is your bearing that is, in fact, bad before replacing it.
Hope that helps. PM me if you have any questions
-Daniel
