Should I just plead guilty and request the fine to be lowered? This is my first ticket ever!
They're not going to lower it. If you pay it the cost will be about $350, that includes traffic school. (Orange County price) other county fines will differ.

NO extension... Do the traffic school asap, so you can clear one point off your record.. First of all it is your first ticket, so take care of it now and don't wait, cause it will be 18 months later till you can take traffic school again.. So when you get another one it can be extended further so you can take traffic school again..

Example: 1st Ticket in December > Traffic school March done.. Hopefully you don't, but you get 2nd ticket February of next year, wait till 2nd to last day of due date which is usually 30 to 60 days after you recieved the ticket, then extend it for another 30 to 60 days, then when that comes around, extend again if you can.. Bam take traffic school again!! 0=points...

I've had my License suspended 6 times since the age of 16, something I'm not at all proud of, and those who know the entire story know what I mean..
So how do you avoid getting your license suspended?..I hear they'll let you keep it to drive school/work ?

ya you can get that, the judge said NO to the 2 who asked for that.

The situation is that if you still need to maintain life, have a big commute etc. Your ticket has to be one that doesn't make u a "danger"

no wreckless, accidents, etc.

perhaps some other infractions that were "unlucky" or what not to get. The judges seem to let that kind of thing slide.

again im no legal attorney though.

I was thinking of extending my 90 mph ticket for thursday July 3rd (holiday weekend) at 3pm traffic hour ... And pray to god the cop doesnt show.. Then, if all goes well, pay the second ticket and do traffic school. Reasonable plan?? I think I'm just more worried about my record and insurance at this point.. argh..I'm trying to slow down but my life is so hectic four hours of sleep if I'm lucky.. And not to mentioned stress like a motherfu*ker cause I need my a's or else I won't get in to med school. And now I have to deal with two tickets!! I feel so godretarded.

oh and greg,
there isn't really any details for both instances except to say I was clearly speeding. I believe both occassions were radar and only on the second ticket I got yesterday did the cop show me the clocked speed. So am I screwed or am I really screwed?

Go to your local law library. Ask for Nolo: How to fight a traffic ticket in California and win.

http://www.nolo.com/product.cfm/ObjectID/5...8897B9/104/263/

Nolo publications has the best law guides for non-lawyers.

OK that will work, go ahead and extend your 90mph ticket but take traffic school for your ticket you just got ASAP. I'm not sure where you got your ticket but I know if you got a ticket in LA County, you can do your traffic school online LOL. My friend did his while he was at work and just answer questions at the end. If you got the ticket in OC, unfortunately you can't take it online. I beleive SD county you can take your traffic school online.

I mean it doesn't really matter which ticket you extended for insurance wise because a speeding ticket is a speeding ticket unless you get one for speeding over 30mph and it is 2pts. But if you do extend one ticket make it the one that is the highest speed haha.

Like dwnshift said, it is based on your "conviction date" so whatever day you get your traffic school complete you have 18 months from that day.
