If you wanna play it safe, see where they are registered at, see what the average price is on what they picked out.
$500 i think is generous if it's a small wedding, if it's a big wedding then it might be fair.
Like someone mentioned, depending on the wedding is what you should give.

Well, I don't know about you guys....but I think $500 is generous enough, and it's his homie of 20 years.

When we got married, all of our friends were just starting out in their careers or just graduating from law school/grad school so everyone was broke as a joke
