Vietnamese wedding, $50 per person if you don't know them that well. $100 if you do. You can obviously give more, but that's the standard.

$500 is generous but I don't think you can say anything is too much if it's your lifelong friend.

If you are in the wedding, I can't think a better way of hooking up than when the bride brags about your wedding gift to the rest of the bridesmaids. LOL JK.

I think $500 is good since your in the wedding and have auxiliary expenses from the wedding.

If you weren't in the wedding, i would say $1,000

I say $500 is very generous. My cousin recently got married and as a family i think we only gave about that much...and we're family(granted not close, but still family).

remember, assuming it's a nice wedding, they're shelling out $200 or so to feed you and have you at the party, so much less than $500 and they barely break even on you.

Yeah, so where is the wedding at? What kind of food will be provided?

You could give them a smaller cash prize and spend tons of money on him at his bachelor party....
