How Do I Fix A Tear In My Soft Top?
#16
I tried the vinyl patch way once, worked for a month or two but then failed (probably because of the hot sun).
My method is using outdoor fabric (such as sunbrella) + fabric glue on the INSIDE
and then going over the tear on the outside with a tiny bit of silicone (to waterproof)
try to patch your wear marks before they become holes, then you only need to patch the outside.

Someone suggested I put some velcro on my worn down area (not yet a rip).
It rubbed off in a very short time. The problem is that the top sits tightly
against a bar that it moves over each time the top is put up or down. This
makes it hard to keep the fabric from getting pulled off. So, I just applied
a generous blob of fabric glue over the area and smoothed it out. Let it
dry for a good 24 hours. So far so good.
