)depending on your deductible you might want to just pay it out of pocket (I.E. repaired door $1200 vs. deducible $1000) I would rather just pay the extra $200 and keep it off my record.
I had a hit and run also, it's the worst feeling ever.

That sucks!
Something similar happened to me but luckily she was a nice lady and left a note. I just replaced the skin which came out fine. But now, I would rather go with a whole new door if insurance is going to pay for it. The P.I.T.A. part about it is your time dealing with the body shop making sure everything turns out right.
