Default Was hit on a motorcycle

Hi all,

2 days ago, at a red light making my way up to the light in the middle of 2 lanes with cars all stopped. Out of no where, a car to my right open its rear driver door that caught my leg and my motorcycle that send both my motorcycle and I to the ground. My right leg sprained. To my surprise, the other party didn't bother to help me get back up as I was screaming in pain. The only words I heard coming from them was the one who opened the door on me said "can you move the bike so I can close the door." Luckly, other witnesses stopped and helped me by calling the paramedics.

So here's the situation, the other party drives an 02-06 Altima and she claimed "no insurance." The police found out that the car doesn't belong to her, it belongs to her mother. I can't validate whether her mother has insurance or not. Police's report found her at fault

My motorcycle is damaged, but ridable.

What can I do?

collect money from her to fix the bike and move on with life. there are some risks you accepted when you got on the bike. find out how much it takes to fix you bike and make her, her mom, or her creditcard pay for it and move on if you can. glad you ok
Matt

edit* if she cant get the $$ then go after her with your ins. but note that ins. takes notes on all of this

Glad your OK, check your policy to see if you have uninsured/underinsured protection, you can make the claim for repair and medical without your policy going up.

Call your adjuster.. That's his job. He'll go after them.

Let your insurance company deal with it. That's what you pay them for. I've tried to be a nice guy a couple of times, and deal directly with the other party involved, but it never works out.

man i would be so pissed if that other party said that... even with a sprained leg i would of limped after her a$$, rude and inconsiderate. why was she trying to open the door in the first place if you guys were stopped at a light?

i hope your leg is ok
