Are high-mileage hybrids good?
I'm going to start commuting in a few months and am seriously considering a cheap hybrid to get a carpool sticker. Anyone know if a high-mileage prius or civic would be ok maintenance-wise? I'm thinking 130k+ miles on a car that's less than 4 years old.
The carpool sticker, low maintenance cost, and low car cost is all I care about. MPG doesn't really matter.
Thanks!

^ exactly.
I'm a big earth hating republican but even I think that the disposal of these is of great concern.
PLUS THE PRICE. Watch the value of these cars PLUMMET! when 5 or so years rolls around and the 7 year mark is near.

no, not leaving buy.com. i'm thinking about moving to save money and be closer to my mom.
i would get a geo metro if it had a carpool sticker. i would by any car that had a carpool sticker and was cheap.
does the hybrid battery replacement have more to do with time or mileage...or both?

My 07 Honda Civic Hybrid took only two full tanks to get to Denver, CO. So far very reliable, just like the other Honda. I maxed out the techno gizmo on mine too. I picked it because it looks like all the other Civics and aftermarket parts are readily available.
